Simple Living

While making the long voyage to Australia, the poorest passengers on the SS Great Britain would have had few possessions and little space to arrange them. Despite this, many chose to prioritise their own happiness with small luxuries.

Some passengers filled their luggage with books rather than clothing. Others decorated their tiny cabins with rugs or blankets, and one passenger chose to use a whole week's worth of water ration so that he could have a bath!

In the modern world we still appreciate the need to look after ourselves, while also looking after the planet. Harking back to simpler times, this collection features gifts which allow these moments of luxury without hurting the environment.
