The SS Great Britain had a part to play in the Victorian obsession with discovering new flora from around the world.
Plant specimens were brought back to this country on board Brunel’s famous steamship, including several brand new species of orchid.
Our botany range takes inspiration from the flowers carried on board the ship, as well as the people who travelled the globe in the name of discovery.
