This journal gives the reader a first-person account of the journey from Melbourne to Liverpool on the SS Great Britain. Mary Crompton wrote her diary on board the ship in 1866 at the age of just 20.
It’s the only full passenger diary to be published from this trip, and is edited by Mary Crompton's great grandson James. A real slice of history, it tells the story of all the incidents and characters on board in 1866, including lovely illustrations, anecdotes and maps.
