This vibrant wooden replica of the iconic Stephenson's Rocket engine is licensed by the National Railway Museum. The rocket engine was made in 1829 in Newcastle upon Tyne by Robert Stephenson. It averaged 12 miles an hour with a top speed of 30mph. Stephenson's Rocket was a technological marvel in its day, bringing together a multi-tube boiler and blast-pipe in one machine.
